28/2/06 - Britney Celebrates Mardi Gras
Britney spent part of Mardi Gras with a group of students whose lives were upended when Hurricane Katrina devastated the area six months ago.

Standing in the French Quarter surrounded by St. Catherine of Siena School dancers wearing "Gatorettes" uniforms, , she talked on ABC's "Good Morning America" Tuesday of her recent "surprise" meeting with four older students from Metairie, a suburb of New Orleans.

Britney grew up in Kentwood, Louisiana, and has participated in fundraisers for victims of the hurricane.

On a recent morning, the girls sat down to breakfast with City Councilman Jay Batt, thinking they were there to discuss the effects of Katrina. Then Britney walked in, greeted with squeals.

"It was awesome. I will never forget it," said 14-year-old Lindsay Hernandez, who lived with 21 relatives and friends after her home was destroyed.

She took the girls shopping and to dine at one of Cajun chef Emeril Lagasse's restaurants for some Southern comfort food, including fried chicken and red beans and rice.

Britney gave the girls fleur-de-lis pins on blue ribbons, and she surprised the school's dance troupe, the Gatorettes.

"It was an honor to be here with all of them," she said.

23/2/06 - Britney Seeks Sikh Yoga Master’s Help

Britney is reportedly seeking the help of a yoga guru as she plans her career comeback.

She has been spotted visiting Sikh yoga master, Singh Khalsa, at his Los Angeles home and sources claim she's undergoing a course of `sound healing'.

During the therapy sessions, which are based on ancient kundalini yoga practices, clients are exposed to sound vibrations as they lie on a special couch.

It's not the first time Britney has turned to ancient religions for spiritual help - she also dabbled with Kabbalah, and recently had her baby son, Sean Preston, blessed by a Hindu minister.

22/2/06 - Britney Says She Can't Go Out With Her Son Because of Paparazzi

"I don't really go out with (Sean Preston)," Britney tells People magazine of her fear of the photographers. "And it's kind of sad because I can't walk down the street with a stroller. I'm not expecting people to pity me. I'm just telling the truth."

"I've pulled over and asked the cops, 'Could you please help me? They've been driving recklessly back there.' And they say, 'Sorry, ma'am, I can't help you. This is how it is.' I mean, Princess Diana got killed by one of these people. They're crossing the line."

"I sound bitter," she tells People in its Feb. 27 issue. "I'm not bitter. I'm doing great."

17/2/06 - Britney Back in Studio and Eager to Get Back On the Road and Tour!

Britney is planning a pop comeback because she's bored by the music playing on MTV and the radio.

She turned her back on recording and touring almost two years ago to become a wife and mother, but now she's desperate to challenge the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan and Ashlee Simpson and reclaim her pop crown.

She tells People magazine, "I haven't seen anybody out there who has had a performance where I'm like, 'That's f**king awesome.' It's been boring."

And Britney, who quit her last tour, citing exhaustion and injuries, can't wait to get on the road again.

She adds, "This may sound weird, but I miss traveling. I miss the road... I needed a break. I needed to be hungry again."

And she is hoping to shock fans when she returns to the limelight later this year, by ditching her pop sound for a new bluesy style!

She explains, "I used to listen to blues music and all that stuff. I would like to try to have more influences of that sound.

"Not that I'm going to be like frickin' Tina Turner, but you never know."

14/2/06 - Britney Joins Mardi Gras Festivities

Britney, a Louisiana native, will celebrate Mardi Gras in New Orleans later this month when the devastated city hopes to revive some its old partying ways.

"I am honored to be a part of the Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans this year," she said. "It is so important for this amazing city to continue its annual traditions and I am really looking forward to being involved."
Britney will appear on ABC's Good Morning America on Feb. 28, when the morning show reports live from New Orleans. ABC announced that she will bring "surprises for a group of very deserving young residents."

11/2/06 - Britney Not Expecting Another Baby

Britney's husband, Kevin Federline, has laughed off reports his famous wife is pregnant with their second child.

The couple, who wed in September 2004, welcomed Sean Preston into the world last September. Kevin has two children Kori and Kaleb from a previous relationship with actress Shar Jackson.

Earlier this month, reports claimed that Britney had announced her second pregnancy at Malibu, California store Shabby Chic, declaring: "That's right, number two," while rubbing her rounded belly.

However, backstage at the Grammy Awards on Wednesday, Kevin said, "It would be a few years (before I'm a father again)."

9/2/06 - Britney Meeting Ex-Husband for Chat Sessions - Report

Britney has started meeting up with her ex-husband Jason Alexander again - because he lives in the same Los Angeles apartment block as her dad.

The couple only wed for 55 hours but sources claim that Britney is still friendly with her father Jamie's neighbour, and has been meeting him in Studio City for heartfelt chats.

A pal of Alexander's tells American magazine In Touch, "Britney has been visiting him whenever she feels lonely. She used to come over once a month, but now she visits more regularly.

"She's known Jason since they were little, so she feels like she can trust him."

7/2/06 - Britney Snapped Drivng With Her Baby On Her Lap

Britney is at the centre of a storm after photos surfaced showing her potentially endangering the life of her new baby, Sean Preston.
They show her behind the wheel of her black Lincoln Navigator with her son on her lap.
Word is from Britney's camp that the Navigator was stopped in front of a store while her bodyguard was inside. While waiting in the driver's seat, Britney took Sean Preston out of his seat and into her lap.
"I instinctively took measures to get my baby and me out of harm's way, but the paparazzi continued to stalk us," she is quoted saying.
After paparazzi approached the car, and the bodyguard returned, Britney drove off while still holding Sean Preston (according to reports).

7/2/06 - Britney to Guest on Will and Grace

Britney is to guest on an episode of US sitcom Will and Grace, playing a conservative Christian!

She will appear in the April 13th episode, as a sidekick to Sean Hayes' character, Jack, who hosts his own talk show.

In the episode, Jack's network, Out TV, is bought by a Christian TV network, leading to Britney contributing a cookery segment called "Cruci-fixin's."
